In conclusion, I am excited to take this project on to 361MC as it is one step closer to seeing the final piece on screen which I would feel an accomplishment. The piece itself is dedicated in the memory of my friend. 361C is a module where I have been able to have full control over the project and work independently, I am positive this will open new doors for the future. Stages later in the production process will help me see and meet new contacts; I hope to receive professional feedback.

The future looks promising and this film looks hopeful.

I will be going down to London from 23^rd to the 30^th of January to go and finalise the locations and scripting.

Iv also had the idea of broadcasting the film online through my friend Harry Fear. Who runs Harry Fear TV he has regular viewers tuning in every week so i will exploit this aswell.

First ill start with Local Festivals then going national then international. I plan on going to film festivals including the Super Shorts International Film Festival and Raindance ilm Festival. I will also make use my current contacts, one of whom is on the board of directors at the Limelight film Awards.

This contact has agreeded to allow me free entry to the festival. One special festival id like to enter for is the Peckham free film festival.

This festival will take place in the same borough as the location the film is based on and filmed on.

To enter into the best festivals like Raindance have high entry fees, in order to achieve this amount of funds I will have to start doing fund raising. So far i have had a few ideas on how to raise money for it.

I have thought about hosting a night at a club where i could get my friend Saj to get artist to play for free or Discounted rates. I could attract people to buy tickets with the incentive of crediting each person that attends only if they leave their details.

Another way i could raise money for the film will be by using Kickstarter.com  this is a fantastic way to keep your givers updated about the project. plus they help you get most out of your project.

This studio will be used to record the soundtrack for the film. I have arranged a young artist Dimond I from South London to make a track with Saj. All the rights for the music will be given to me and Prophecy Media.

this is the rockingham estates main square where iv grown up and seen and witnessed life that can be destructive, but iv also had some of the best times on this square. This is one of the main locations for this Piece.

This is a prime location for a chase scene as there is many entrances and exits making it very confusing to get around.

The school gates. This will be a scene where our protagonist is asked why he is late at the gate.

i will be exploring how to use the school block in my film but i certainly know that i want to use this location.

This is the location i want to end the film. it looks very wonderful at night look at the difrance between the pictures.

This is the mosque in the estate, id like to use this as one of the scenes where our protagonist goes to reflect.

I will bring a lot of attitude to this film as I get what a person from the “ends” looks like. My production skills have improved since being in college and I feel now it is time to exploit all my contacts and go ahead and make the leap to create something with thought. I want to go through each frame and make sure its beautiful. I believe the visual appeal is the important factor when trying to implement reality. I have access to editing suites in London and Coventry for free. Being well connected makes things flow smoothly and organising this all is what im good at.

Me and seon have worked together from a young age, even when we were at secondary school so that chemistry is there we make a good team.

the reason for this camera is that it can be very well adapted, offering full HD at 24fps is amazing as it matches the frame rate of 35MM film. This camera system also offers me changeable lens to achieve the look I want. New canon EF lens can be very expensive so I have opted to use older canon FD manual lens with my 60D body to create the look for less. For sound I will be investing in a shotgun mic and a Zoom H4Nfield recorder.

This combination will give me clear sound that will be nice to the ear.  I will be buying a LED Lighting set which will alow me to do studio lighting on a very portable system, this will allow me to get a well-lit frame.

This combination of equipment will allow me to achieve a nice crisp footage that i could colour and edit later in post to get my creative feel and look. My edit will take place on Premier Pro CS5 which i already own.

I will be using Jibs and Gliders provided to my from the media Loan Shop to compose some of the shots in the film, using these pieces of kit will allow my short to have more cinematic appeal and look like a good film.

I would like to have filmed on a RED EPIC camera but it will be to costly for this piece at this time. I think the 60D should be fine for the production value of this piece.

This story will pull together real life stories of the “Ends”  (Our Homeland) were death has become just another common reoccurrence. Most young people in South London have either lost someone close to them or know someone who has lost someone close to them.

Seon Salam will be my protagonist, he is an actor that has just come out of university studying performing arts.  He is also a media producer as he also makes short films him self. Seon grew up around the area the film is set in aswell as attending the school the film is set in.

Our protagonist’s dad will be played by Anthony Warren, Anthony is a friend of mine who is a professional actor who has played roles in films such as Shank and Marksman and the contract.

Both of these actors have been willing to offer there time for free in return for credits and special thanks. As for the extras I will be using the local schools drama department to find some real life school children to use as extras. This will help me save on costumes as they can wear their school uniforms. As for the friends of the protagonist I will be using young youth that live on the estate. I am very involved with the Rockingham estate, the estate where the film is set and will be filmed in. Iv been a youth worker/volunteer  in the area since I was a 13 year old boy, I grew up seeing and fighting between a life of good and evil. Being close to Southwark councils head of youth services will allow for me to introduce this short film as a project for the young people of Southwark.

Our protagonist is very very smart, he is a natural thinker and being the eldest of 3 siblings he is able to deal with situations effectively.

This film will try and capture some of the hype created by the drama Top Boy about inner city London life. Being a inner city Londoner and growing up and living through the life made me realise that Top Boy did not feel natural.

I want to show the harsh reality of London and the social issues in part of inner city London. Cold blooded murder is a common site and the relation between drugs and murders have always been common talk around deaths of many young local boys to name a few David Essiet and Ronnie Khan. Being a Inner City boy I have seen and lived what I want to recreate. There is no one better than me to tell this story.

Whilst growing up alot of young people including my self listened to very explicit music which gave us reality in the “ends” and it was something we could relate to  (READ THE LYRICS BELOW) This song is a very prime example of power in the words coming from the artist. This is the sort of power i want to create with this piece. i want all the young people to be able to relate and feel emotionally touched. The first verse is very emotional and touches me deeply as i recently lost a very close friend someone id like to call a brother, who gives me inspiration. One part of this song represents me well “The real shit that I layed down shows my ends rep, The deep shit that I write down shows my pen’s depth,” these lines represent me personally, I left the ends to come university in Coventry but the work I make shows that my DNA is still South London.

This next song is also a influence to the narrative structure of my story. This song tells a story that is all to familiar in parts of South London.

This song allows me to visualise parts of the film that are yet to be scripted.

This film is a prime example of how the language sounds natural, one of the young actors Simon is my old neighbour and he grew up with my little brother. I will also be asking him to get involved he will be scripted in if he wants to be involved.
