Personal Statement:

I am a student at Coventry University, where I am studying my 2nd Year of Bachelor of Arts in Media Production and Project Management. Whilst I am at university I wish to work part time to build up my foundation and work portfolio for post graduation as I do not want to be rejected by organisations for lack of work experience. I am currently setting up my own production team (Prophecy Media) which I wish to expand after leaving university. My ultimate aim is to become associated in the media/film industry and absolute one day run my own production company.

Peer Researcher:  2005/2006

I learned how to conduct proper research during this course, during this course I researched in to my local community to see what the youth of my local community need. At the end I was awarded with a certificate and a sum of money for carrying out a successful research on my local area to help improve standard of life for the youth.

Effective Ways of Working With Young People: (Certificate Held for 3 Credits at level 2)

One week intense course in Arethusa, were I learnt health and safety, child protection, ECM, code of conduct, confidentiality and much more.

REPA Youth Nights: (voluntary)

President, Treasurer and Co founder of Youth Forum, I am part of a forum that runs a youth service provided to people of the Rockingham estate in south east London.

  • I have learnt how to gain respect of younger and older individuals and how to handle groups on trips and residentials.
  • I have also developed my budget skills, for example handling and organising the grants used to fund our youth nights.

This was a family business that I volunteered to work in during a gap year I had taken out, I did not get paid, and I was helping my dad run the day to day business and evaluating the business plans and trying to improve it. I perfected my customer service skills during my time with this business. This business was then sold, which resulted in the termination of my voluntary.
